Portugal 5-0 Uzbekistan: a record night for Ronaldo

Nuno Mendes added the second, an own goal from Abdukodir Nematov made it four after the hour, and substitute Rafael Leão completed the 5-0 rout late on.
The win hands Portugal a commanding position in Group K. For the milestone in full, see our piece on Ronaldo becoming the first to score at six World Cups.
England 0-0 Ghana: favourites held
At Gillette Stadium, Ghana frustrated England in a goalless draw that left both sides on four points and kept Group L wide open. England could not break a compact, well-drilled Ghana defence — a reminder that in a 48-team field, even the favourites are made to work for everything. Colombia 1-0 DR Congo: Muñoz sends the Cafeteros through
In Guadalajara, Colombia booked their place in the knockout rounds with a 1-0 win over a stubborn DR Congo. Croatia 1-0 Panama: Budimir off the bench, Panama out
At BMO Field in Toronto, substitute Ante Budimir headed home a Josip Stanišić cross in the 54th minute to give Croatia their first win of the tournament and eliminate Panama. The 2018 finalists revived their campaign on a landmark night for captain Luka Modrić. The full report is in our Croatia 1-0 Panama recap.
